Arthur Hurst, Jr., affectionately called “Junior”, was born onJanuary 8, 1958 in New Orleans, LA. He died at the Baton RougeGeneral Hospital-Bluebonnet on Wednesday August 7, 2024 at66 years of age.He dedicated his life to Jehovah God, and was baptized as one ofJehovah’s witnesses on March 31, 1974, and faithfully servedJehovah for 50 years. He served as a coordinator of the body ofelders with the Baker and Blackwater Congregations.One of his greatest joys was serving as a part of the RegionalBuilding Committee and Local Design Committee.In 1978 he began his 45 year career at DEMCO/Zachary districtas a lineman; eventually he promoted to a district supervisor, and atthe time of his retirement was trainer with the lineman trainingprogram. He trained so many men that worked throughoutDEMCO, he was “the MANN”!He is loved dearly and will be greatly missed by his survivingfamily: his daughter: Charisse Hurst; 3 sisters: Annsylvia Collins,Donna (Hurst) Hulbert, and Rosemary Hurst; many nieces,nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and a host of other relativesand friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lola Wells Hurst,his mother Mary Magdalene East Hurst, and father, Arthur Hurst,Sr.
