Kashanna D. Jarriet Rainey

1975-2025

On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, God called his Angel home from earth to her eternal rest at the age of 49 years old. Kashanna was born on August 15, 1975, from the union of David Jarriet, Jr., and Brenda Jarriet.

Kashanna and her daughters would periodically visit Saint John Baptist Church in Alsen, Louisiana. She was originally from New Orleans; uptown off Josephine Street, Kashanna spent the last forty years on Mathis Drive in Marrero, Louisiana. For the last 3 years, she resided in Alsen and Baker, Louisiana with her two daughters and companion, Frederick C. Bailey.

She was affectionately known by all her family as “Patty” or “Patty Cake.” Kashana was hardworking; loved to cook and party with her family and friends. She also loved her two daughters unconditionally.

Kashanna attended John Ehret High School in New Orleans and later went to Job Corps, where she received her G.E.D. and her diploma in Culinary Arts. She was employed by Walmart in Baker, Louisiana.

Kashanna is preceded in death by her parents, David Jarret, Jr., and Brenda Jarriet; two grandfathers, David Jarriet, Sr., and Alfred Williams; two grandmothers, Sally Williams, and Stella M. Williams; one aunt, Ora Lee Dante; four uncles, Henry, Alfred, Dwayne, and Thurman Williams.

Left with broken hearts to cherish her memories and live out her legacy of love and kindness are her: two daughters, Kyra and Tijai Jarriet; her devoted companion, Frederick C. Bailey; her husband, Curtis Rainey; two brothers, David(Gwendolyn) Jarriet, and Henry(Latasha) Jarriet; one sister, Carmen Jarriet; two great uncles, Morris Griffin Jr, and Oliver L Batieste III, four aunts, Stella Johnson, Debra Parker, Amanda Williams, Andrea Holmes and a host of nephews, nieces, great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and family.

And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. Revelation 14:13 KJV
